I came across a week old mail in my updates tab,a rather surprising mail, that from medium.

Because I couldn’t actually grasp the logic behind the achievement, I doubted if it was true even. It really could be a poor joke. But then, I checked out the top writers ranking of medium here. There it was! Rank #12.

Well, wow! and a huge THANK YOU! but then…

But the whole logic of it guys!? It’s just honestly sad!

Ofcourse I was happy, it was quite an unexpected surprise. Who in my line of work, wouldn’t like a Top writer in Women in Tech tag? This is not me complaining, it’s just that the why part is just sad.

How would one be a top writer in a particular tag on medium? Because ze writes a lot on the topic, which is read and shared by many.

You know how many articles I have written? 5 articles. 2 TWTW and 3 blogs. You know how many followers I have? 103 and my rank? 12!?

Which just means one simple thing. There aren’t enough people writing about women in tech. People aren’t talking about this or inspiring women in tech through one of the world’s finest writing/reading platform — medium.Which is one sad reality.

As I read more, I realised I wasn’t the first one to whom this news felt depressing. Check out one here. There should be more of us out there, for the sake of eradicating ignorance outside our target audience and inspiring those within.

So dear ladies reading the blog, kick me out of that list! I mean, actually don’t. Like Elizabeth Venner said,

I want to be on that because I write loads of amazing content, not because there isn’t any!!

So ladies, give us some competition, Please?

Warm love,
